Histwar 2 Sounds Poll

Postby [N]Von Clausewitz » Tue Oct 01, 2013 3:02 pm

I was discussing with JMM wether or not to add regimental sounds when you click on a regiment and give it orders.
As you remember in the TW series when you click for example on a regiment of grenadiers it would say something like "Grenadiers ready sir" or some crap of the sort.
In our NTW3 mod we had removed all these sounds because of the new units we added were messing it up, also because we wanted it to run smoother in MP.

Do you think sounds like that are needed in Histwar2 or can we do without them?

I voted no as long as there is a sound (click, etc.) so one can decipher the action taken.

Can the people that voted please express an opinion as to why they voted the way they did?

Yes from me,its all about the imersion for me,what ever makes it feel more epic and that your actually involved is always a plus.I used to love the unit music in the very early days as it was specific to french guard etc.
Besides bill will only mod it.

The voices and the music are 2 different things Tac. The regimental music is good but the voices are not necessary and just get annoying.

Functionality is all that is necessary, the immersion into my epic victories is where I'm actually involved. The sound of my opponents' dieing breath will suffice.

I said yes as long as it is done correctly. I don't want to hear the same voice for every unit.
