At Napoleons side in Russia > Memoirs of Armand De Caulaincourt

I also have two excellent fictions

At Napoleons side in Russia > Memoirs of Armand De Caulaincourt

I have read references and bits of this title and it sounds quite facinating.

Found a couple free ebooks for my Droid on the Civil War. Started reading one that was written 100 years ago and its real good. Its called "History of the Civil War" by James Ford Rhodes. Still looking for a good Napoleonic book worth spending money on.

A few here for you chaps. viewtopic.php?f=41&t=226

Highly recommend the two books by Adam Zamoyski & The Anatomy of Glory - Napoleon and his Guard by Henry Lachouque

If you enjoyed Caulaincourt's memoirs you'll enjoy The Memoirs of Sergeant Bourgogne & Military Life Under Napoleon: The Memoirs of Captain Elzear Blaze

Battle Tactics of Napoleon and His Enemies by Brent Nosworthy seems a very detailed and hefty book but I've yet to fully dive in. Would make a good companion alongside the Rory Muir book.

Didn't see Swords Around a Throne: Napoleon's Grande Armee by John R Elting on your list. This is a must read imo.

There's a book I read awhile ago called "the end of the old order" or something like that. I can't remember the author but I'm sure you can find it through Google. Anyway, I thought it was pretty good.

Since I have not been able to play lately, I've been reading a lot about Napoleonic Strategies. I have read "The Swords around a Throne" based on the recommendations here, great book btw. I know this thread is for Napoleonic books, but I found a good book regarding the Civil War, "Lee's Lieutenants: A study in command" by Douglas Freeman. Since the tactics employed were similar I thought I'd pass it along. Many of you Civil War buffs might have already read it, but it is definitely worth mentioning.

Tarheel
