Map Packs and other mods

Okay i love the concept of the new Campaign,we are about to indulge in.Now the idea is to use the 1.5 map packs and here's my question.Why are these now playable since the last NTW patch?Yes you can play them alright but has anyone finished a game,without anyone crashing out.There is the dilemma.
NTW is deliberately unmoddable,the bastards at CA want it that way.Why pay for DLC content when someone could just as easily mod these new units in.So we all know this-right.So map packs or vanilla,that is the question.Map packs,i fear not but if someone can explain to me why its playable and say that is.Well i'm all ears.Please dont have us playing stuff thats totally broken even when we know it is(beta anyone-pfft)

I say we give it a go.

If it doesnt work we go vanilla vanilla, we had a game yesterday and it seem right.
We try it as there is a lot to win and not much to loose.
